UPDATED 3/16/08

Well, now it's the Germino Low Voltage head, but with
a twist, natch. It's too loud stock, so..., since its
415 at the plates, I put in two 6v6s and biased it to
the top line, and it's singing. Use the regular G12m
speakers in a closed 2/12 and there you are. also, use
the 4 into 8 ohm setting (Germino says the
transformers are designed for this). My favorite sound
for warm clean. and it's loud enough, believe me. For
BluesBreakers 2010, two celestion blues in a 2 rock
open 2'12 at 8 ohms with a Blackface pro reverb (at
four ohms natch) and voila. really. crazy, but many
hours at home, and some gigs have borne out the
theoretical madness

UPDATE 6/1/07

the clark amp is the closest
thing to my 55 deluxe ive heard. the beaufort special
with reverb and the tyger with reverb and attenuation
are now in the herd and are as advertised. ive been
using them on the new mess and they are happening for
whatever you run. on the beaufort im running a
celestion blue, the tyger has two weber qs and a p if
i remember correctly. mike clark, by the way, backs
his stuff for 10 years transferable, and can be
reached on the phone fairly easily. on the buzz front,
the hermida zendrive sounds better than the dumble
overdrive special i sold too soon. get on their list,
and for 179., you're happening.( i now only lost
35,821 on the amp, and sound better:fair, i think)
also, i invented/discovered a strat converted to a
banjo, and have used it on the new wax, it's just what
I'd hoped for if i do say so myself. Ill do a
pictorial on it and show y'all how to do it, no big.
now, for the cheap lapsteel of the week: the
rickenbacher student model. so unique, different from
the bakelites cause it's hollow, and if you like the
bigger sound, it's also somewhat underpriced at
250-400. really good sound and versitile. hope this
helps. more to come most likely   richard

UPDATE 7/29/06

The addition of banjo(sm 98) and acoustic guitar(sunrise w/ demeter tube direct box and fishman transducer) has made necessary the following:  An allen and  heath mix wizard sent to JBL g2 15s. The 64 princeton and 55 deluxe are mic'd and monitored on stage by additional jbl monitors, It's a pretty good solution for playing more quietly on stage and it's not hi fi sounding at the amps. Any combination of fronts and monitors can be used depending on gig size, and the lug is tolerable. The compromise of tone for amplitude is avoided, and the additional cost is defrayed by our needing a pa anyway.  Moore tone guitars are a good mid priced solution to the pre-cbs dilemma. Ive put in detemples and they're good. So.....here's the current lineup: 64 strat, 54 goldtop (w/pat#), 50 frying pan(w/37 1/2in hshoe ),angus steel string acoustic, wyatt fawley 5-string banjo, 64 princeton, 66 deluxe,55 deluxe, 66 pro,
Demeter tube direct, line 6 delay mod, orig. tim pedal, and that's it.......... for now.

UPDATE 12/16/06

Got a Germino '55 low voltage head, really sounds good.  Using it throught two Celestion Blues with the t-rex reverb for blues breaker sound...closeish.  Also got Pro Tools LE7 with Mac Book Pro 2 15" with Demeter Stereo Tube Mic Pre with KRKV4s.  Sounds good and is easy.  One day recording with Plug-Ins, working on editing and mixing.  Will update...
